Crunchy spine

Lower back and hips have been feeling a bit sore just lately, this morning after walking Flipper there was a lot of difficulty bending down to untie my boot laces, I knew I couldn't just ignore it any more and rang the physio. A cancellation meant she squeezed me in this afternoon. She kept on finding bits of me that were all crunchy, especially once I mentioned that my shoulder had been feeling a bit sore too. The tiny needles have been stabbed into me and I've been pummeled. It's still hurty, but a different sort of hurty now. A few days of taking it easy have been ordered, and the reminder of the importance of core exercises given. No club run for me tonight, it is presently an effort to lift a mug of tea, but I'm optimistic for the weekend.

Get bouldering/climbing that will help no end. West View leisure centre have now opened a bouldering "cave", its not huge but for once they have put in a reasonable amount of problems at lower mortal grades. I was there on Sunday, did a few routes, had a little play bouldering then abandoned my harness and got stuck in.

I've never really taken to bouldering before.

I get very tight hips/back etc and see a chiro every three months or so to straighten me out but I noticed my hips were a lot less tight after climbing.

I heard about Westview for the first time today on twitter and now you've mentioned it too, must get myself over there. Partly why I fancied picking up a bit of climbing was to work on some overall strength and give me a really good stretch out, let's hope it helps!

get well soon - with this weather it looks like a good few days to be laid up anyway.

Singlespeeding helped my core strength ;-)

You need to build up your strength slowly. Start off with biscuits then move on to slices of cake.

I'm not very keen on this resting lark either! At least the weathers horrible so i'm not missing being out too much.

it was bouldering that made me ouchy! but perhaps because I don't stretch or warm up....

Get well soon Vicky! fingers crossed for the weekend. x
