Running off some pud

The last couple of mornings I've woken up convinced I've got a cold setting in, headache and non-functioning nostrils. I decided not to race yesterday because of it. Thought today I'd see how I felt and try and get out for a run this afternoon if I felt a bit less snuffily. By mid-afternoon I was feeling fine but then that pesky clock change nearly caught me out. I was merrily thinking I had ages before it got dark, fortunately Flipper the dog has not adjusted the timer built into her ever rumbling belly and I realised when she came asking for her dinner that I better get my arse out the door for that run before it got too late. A nice 3 and a bit miles, including a little bit of speed work (in the loosest sense possible). This will have done little to counteract yesterdays comfort food intake, Glyn got all masterchef and made peach melba, including spun sugar baskets, as Michel Roux Jr would say, "veeeeerrrrrry nice!"

but was it "unctuous"?

No, but it was "pretty as a picture" and I happily ate all of it.

The best thing about running off Pudding is it makes room for more!

it sounds pretty as a picture and the type of fine dining i'd happily have in my restaurant! ;)

Sugar baskets! Your household sounds very 'arty'. I'd have felt guilty snaffling them all down. Can't beat a Jam RolyPoly I reckon. And well done for getting out. Sounds like it could've easily been a day of dodging training : ) RB

Red - yep, pud, run, pud, is pretty much how it goes.

PP - Glyn says thankyou, because cooking doesn't get tougher than this.

Rb - mmmm jam roly-poly. Mmmmmm custard with that.

just spat my tea out laughing, cheers Glyn. You really have got what it takes to go all the way.

But what of the flavour combinations? My favorite ever Gregism, which I think he only said once (and you have to say in his cockney accent) was "its like an angel kissed my tongue".
