C'mon legs let's go running

Run club tonight, I knew my post-RAB legs weren't up to the fells so I deliberately didn't take my headtorch out. I optimistically wore my trail shoes hoping there would be a slower group up for a gentle off-road jog. Alas, no, I had to rummage in the boot of the car for my road shoes and hit the black stuff. Somehow my request for a gentle, short jog didn't quite pan out, 6 miles done at a reasonable pace. I was glad when it was over as my legs were starting to stiffen and my blisters threatening a reappearance. And, it was raining. Still, it had to be better than festering around at home in front of the TV going back on my only just made promises to get fit.

It'll be worth it next summer when you are racing.

Six miles is the easy run, so that is somthing to aim for. Thinking about getting run fit again and then coming along on a wed, I think it'll be the motivation I need to keep going. I was doing ok last winter! I must be the only person who is more motivated in the winter than the summer!

Your not, I prefer winter running too. Its less faff than biking normally and only myself to clean.

trio - yes 6 miles on the road is about the norm for the club in winter unless you want to do a headtorch fell run. If you came out though and weren't 6 miles fit somebody would run with you if you wanted.

The temperature is far more suitable for running now as well, and all the fair weather runners have gone. You entered that little race in March yet?

kate - I think that "little" race in March is responsible for Jane being so focussed.

jane - no, I haven't entered yet. Have you? I'm scared of it!

Ooh what madness is in March?

Yes, entry posted. They do vet you for experience though, so I might not get in. The fear is certainly motivating, been out 3 times so far this week.

You'll be fine Jane with your mountain marathons. They just don't want people with no idea entering. The three peaks does the same but they don't take the best its to stop the idiots who don't understand how dangerous the outdoors can be!

Jumbly you will be fine! You have ages to train for it! Be great motivation!

You should have come on the tops..I'm damn sure Albert had us lost for a little while!! Saved by the bell though!
