Running, riding and no cake.

A lot of post-race recovery chocolate, no exercise, several grad and wedding anniversary celebratory meals and a not inconsiderable amount of alcohol. That pretty much sums up my week and it was all consolidated into numeric terror when I stood on the scales this morning. Inspired further by Kate's determination to kick herself up the arse I got into shorts and trainers this morning and went out for a run. I use the word run in the loosest sense, there was a bit of shuffling, some stopping to stretch, some walking and a bit of hopping. I certainly wasn't achieving PB's and winning medals like Runningbear (well done)! I followed this up with a healthy lunch and then a 10 mile round trip on the road bike to meet Carolyn for a catch up at the Fishing Cafe, where I resisted the cake. Off to a good start, I just need to keep it up!

I think you deserve a few treats and some down time after your fine efforts at the Saunders. Don't want to undermine your resolve though. Maybe another race in the diary will help focus the legs... ; ) RB

kate, RB - I was in danger of post-race recovery eating and lazing becoming a lifestyle!

Orange - the chicken pic is on my flickr stream.
