School work interferes with running.

Run club Christmas party last night, had a great time, lots of spinning round on the dance floor, ceilidh style. The Two Crosses 18 mile event was mentioned to me by one of the older guys in the club, he seemed to think it'd be right up my street. Officially it's a long-distance walk, but it's listed as runners welcome and few from my club do it as a run. Hmmm, am much tempted, can I be 18 mile so fit by January though? Skipping cross-country racing this afternoon because I am massively behind schedule on Uni work, my supervisor is expecting an email of what I've written so far for my dissertation for a tutorial on Tuesday. I think she's expecting a lot more than has currently been done! So cracking on with that now, no, really, I am, starting work right now.

It can be done with lots of smart training. But since its also a walk its fine if you can't run it all!

There is some LDWA events around Anglezarke way in February, I did fancy it but like you wonder if I'm 20 or so mile run/walk fit (be good training for my May marathon). My friend has done an LDWA event and there were lots of cakes!

Apparently, yes, they have quite a few feed stations on the way round.

julbags - I just googled the February Anglezake one it's a West Lancs LDWA challenge. No mention of runners being welcome. The East Lancs definitely says runners welcome. Obviously they can't stop you running but might be worth a bit more investigating if you were thinking of signing up for the Feb one.

They allow runners on the long route only - 24 miles which I think may be a teensy bit excessive at that stage. May still do the 16 mile walk though as my friend will be up for it - she's not daft enough to attempt running.
