Microspikes

It was slow going, we were out for nearly 2.5 hours. Lots of fun, but we were definitely ready for a cup of tea and slice of malt loaf when we got back.

I thought about getting some for this weekends epic but didn't in the end in cse it was cancelled and I too would have spikes in a bag!! I just hope the Mudclaws do the job??

I found it slow going especially on the hills. Where I couldn't really get my heart rate up. Might be a few sessions of the football pitch needed just to work hard!

Still on bike tomorrow and I get to meet my new baby!

nice one, 2.5hrs in those conditions is really hard work. i bet they helped more than you think, even if it's just giving you a bit of confidence.
...is flipper loving the snow? my mum's dog (max) is going mental, he can't get enough of it!

Em - I tried for ages to get some last winter and when they finally arrived all the snow had gone. Finally feel justified in my purchase.

Trio - When it's like this I just try to concentrate on time out in the hills, no matter how slow going, don't bother with heart rate monitor. I'm then trying to also do sessions on the football field that are about working hard, they don't happen as often as they should, they're just so boring!

kate - Flipper thinks the snow is the best thing ever!

But I need some exercise after a lazy two weeks, yesterdays run worked well. But putting hills in the mix meant heart rate low.

But all in all an improvement on how lazy I have been!

I think the purchase is def justifiable at the minute Jumbly! The Lostock lot did 7 miles in 2 and a half hours last night over the tops!

A 'slice' of malt loaf?! As in the singular?! I challenge anyone to eat a single slice! Half a pack is a more realistic portion surely. Butter, jam and a cup of tea and I could easily do the whole thing.

T.I.T.N - there may have been more than one slice and there was also some marmite on toast involved. I was trying to appear demure and ladylike ;0)
