Lakeland running

Up and out early this morning to make it to Cockley Beck in the Duddon Valley by 0930 to meet Kate and Jane for a Lakeland potter. Traffic, roadworks, hay wagons and old people in Volvos made for an interesting drive but I got there only a few minutes late. A quick change into running kit and off we set. The route Cockley Beck - Little Stand - Crinkle Crags - Bowfell - EskPike - Scafell Pike - Cam Spout - Great Moss - Cockley Beck. A fabulously sunny, 19km loop, which according to my Garmin racked up just over 5000ft of climbing. My duff knee held good until about the 16km mark and I think it was only really aggravated by the screetastic descent down Cam Spout. A top way to spend a Friday.

Looks like you had a great training session and from the pics a beautiful day.
Friday runs are the best I reckon, asusually working Fridays I feel slightly naughty that I'm out and about which only enhances the experience ; )

It was a really good day out. Good last minute training for the Saunders next week. We were very lucky with the weather, it started to smell of rain just as we were getting back to the cars. Fantastic views from the tops. Kate probably has better photos so keep an eye on her blog and flickr page for them.

That sounds very scary but it does look ever so lovely.
