Gentle jog

An incredibly slow jog on the trails with Flipper this morning. My legs were sore and just not into it, when I realised it had taken 13 minutes to do the first mile I gave up on any notion of speed and settled into the idea of a slow recovery jog. Even taking the time to play around with the quadcamera app on my phone. Did a tad over 3 miles, legs are still feeling a bit sore, my ITB (right leg) is definitely a bit off. Might have to get to the physio and let her work her magic.

Oh no, not the ITB!!!! I had a problem with mine once, in fact both were a little niggly at the same time but the left was really bad. I had them "released", still probably the most painful hour of my life - and I paid for the privilege! I'm really wary of them now, the yoga pigeon pose (easy version, don't kill yourself) is the best stretch for mine.

Ars - not as wet out as it looks in the photo, still fairly muddy though.

Julbags - who did you use to release your ITB's?

A guy in the chiropractors in Buckshaw Village (back in motion), he's a sports therapist and helped look after PNE footballers. I've not seen him for ages so I'm not sure he's still there? I could do with an appointment myself I think. His name is Alan, surname escapes me at the minute though.

Found my card: Alan Watmough, the clinic no is 01772 431777. He's at the clinic a few times a week in Buckshaw. Last time I saw him he was really busy but I could only go in the evening or Saturday mornings, you have more time flexibility than I do.

He knows his stuff and I really should go back and see him - though I'm not sure I'm ready for the pain!

Thanks Julbags, my local physio is good but not necessarily a specialised sports physio.

Go on whats ITB. When I read it I thought 'irritable bowel...' or is that just me being numb

Iliotibial band, runs down the outside of the knee cap. A pesky bit of design as they're really hard to stretch out, mine feels like it's grating against my knee cap at the mo. Nice! It's happened before and a few trips to the physio usually sorts it.

Ug sounds dreadful hope it disappears soon

At one person with sense in this universe who manages to take it easy when something's not quite right! Well done. You are my new role model.

Hope everything's alright with your ITB. I heard they take long to heal. Fingers crossed that it's all good.
